Abstract:
This talk will provide an overview of the Physical Review portfolio and Physics Magazine, covering their evolving scope, the peer review process, and current initiatives to support the global research community. In particular, the journals cover not only fundamental physics, but also applied physics, materials research, energy research and technology, and biological physics. I will also highlight how AI, growing expectations for transparency, and feedback from authors and reviewers are shaping editorial practices. While the presentation is about the journals, it is equally an invitation to hear from the researchers who author, review, and read the journals, so that we can best align our work with your needs.

Short Biography of Dr. Jessica Thomas:
Dr. Jessica Thomas has a Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter physics from MIT and worked as a postdoc and researcher at Brookhaven National Lab (BNL). She has worked as an editor for Nature Nanotechnology and for Physical Review Letters, and she was the Editor of Physics Magazine from 2012 to 2020.
