題 目: Aharonov-Bohm interferometry with tunnel-coupled wires

概 要:
Yamamoto et al. have presented several experimental results on three-terminal systems, in which the currents exit through two terminals, attached to two wires which are coupled via a controllable tunneling. The electrons either enter into one of the wires, or enter into an Aharonov-Bohm ring and then exit through these wires. The whole system is penetrated by a magnetic flux. In this talk I shall present preliminary theoretical results, in which the wires are modeled by a ladder of tight-binding bonds, with a varying hopping energy on the rungs. The model reproduces many of the experimental results, e.g. the `in-phase’ and `anti-phase’ variation of the peaks in the outgoing currents as functions of the flux and of the inter-wire tunneling strength, and the Fourier spectra of these oscillations. In some cases, the theory yields a qualitative explanation of the observed phenomena.
