題目：Observing Topology with Light in Magnetic 2D Materials
概要：In recent years there has been considerable excitement about numerous proposals to realize non-Abelian Anyons, particles whose phase upon exchange depends on the path taken. Their observation signals the emergence of new topological phases and offers a new route to quantum computation. I will outline the reasons to expect such particles in a particular quantum spin-liquid, a phase where there is long range entanglement but no magnetic order. I will then describe a particularly promising van-der-Walls material for realizing such particles, RuCl3. I will describe our infrared and Raman results that suggest the material is close to the Kitaev quantum spin liquid and contains fractionalized particles. Time permitting I will also discuss our recent results on exfoliating this material as well as our efforts to manipulate topology in Weyl semimetals optically.
